Lesson 5 - Work and Professions (Trabajo y Profesiones) Welcome to Lesson 5! In this lesson, we'll delve into the world of work and professions. Objectives By the end of this lesson, you will be able to: Identify and use Spanish vocabulary related to a wide range of professions. Use Spanish vocabulary and phrases related to the workplace and job-related actions. Describe a job using appropriate Spanish adjectives. Vocabulary Professions: médico (doctor), profesor (teacher), ingeniero (engineer), artista (artist), etc. Workplace: oficina (office), fábrica (factory), escuela (school), hospital (hospital), etc. Job-Related Actions: trabajar (to work), dirigir (to manage), enseñar (to teach), aprender (to learn), etc. Describing Work: estresante (stressful), gratificante (rewarding), demandante (demanding), flexible (flexible), etc. Phrases ¿A qué te dedicas? (What do you do for a living?) Trabajo en una oficina. (I work in an office.) Soy profesor de español. (I am a Spanish teacher.) Mi trabajo es muy gratificante. (My job is very rewarding.) Exercises NOTE: These exercises will be given at the end of the lesson. Vocabulary Matching: Match the Spanish vocabulary words with their English translations. Fill in the Blanks: Complete the sentences using the appropriate vocabulary word. Role Play: Practice using your new vocabulary in context by playing the role of an employee discussing your job with a colleague or a manager conducting a job interview. Describing a Job: Choose a profession and describe it using the vocabulary and phrases learned in the lesson.
