Politics and Government (Política y Gobierno) In this lesson, we will explore Spanish vocabulary and phrases related to politics and government. Objectives By the end of this lesson, you will be able to: Identify and use Spanish vocabulary related to politics, government, and civic responsibilities. Understand and use phrases to discuss political systems, elections, and political issues. Express your opinions on political topics in Spanish. Vocabulary Government Terms: gobierno (government), constitución (constitution), ley (law), democracia (democracy), etc. Political Entities: partido político (political party), presidente (president), congreso (congress), corte (court), etc. Civic Actions: votar (to vote), protestar (to protest), debatir (to debate), legislar (to legislate), etc. Political Issues: derechos humanos (human rights), corrupción (corruption), economía (economy), medio ambiente (environment), etc. Phrases La próxima semana habrá elecciones para presidente. (Next week there will be elections for president.) El congreso está debatiendo una nueva ley. (The congress is debating a new law.) Muchos ciudadanos salieron a protestar contra la corrupción. (Many citizens went out to protest against corruption.) Es importante votar en cada elección. (It's important to vote in every election.)
