Nature and Environment (Naturaleza y Medio Ambiente) Objectives By the end of this lesson, you will be able to: Identify and use Spanish vocabulary related to nature, landscapes, and environmental concerns. Understand and use phrases to describe natural phenomena and discuss environmental issues. Express your views on environmental conservation in Spanish. Vocabulary Natural Features: montaña (mountain), río (river), bosque (forest), playa (beach), desierto (desert), etc. Plants and Animals: árbol (tree), flor (flower), pájaro (bird), pez (fish), etc. Environmental Concerns: contaminación (pollution), calentamiento global (global warming), reciclaje (recycling), conservación (conservation), etc. Weather Phenomena: lluvia (rain), viento (wind), tormenta (storm), nieve (snow), etc. Phrases Me gusta caminar en el bosque. (I like walking in the forest.) Debemos reciclar para reducir la contaminación. (We should recycle to reduce pollution.) La tormenta causó muchas inundaciones. (The storm caused many floods.) Necesitamos proteger las especies en peligro de extinción. (We need to protect endangered species.) Exercises NOTE: These exercises will be provided at the end of the lesson. Vocabulary Quiz: Test your knowledge of the new vocabulary with a multiple-choice quiz. Nature Matching: Match Spanish nature phrases with their English translations. Role Play: Practice using the new vocabulary in context by playing the role of an environmental activist giving a speech or two friends discussing a recent nature trip.
