Home and Furniture (Hogar y Muebles) In this lesson, we will familiarize you with Spanish vocabulary related to home and furniture. Objectives By the end of this lesson, you will be able to: Identify and use Spanish vocabulary related to home, rooms, and furniture. Understand and use phrases to describe your home and the location of furniture. Discuss household chores in Spanish. Vocabulary Rooms in the House: sala (living room), cocina (kitchen), dormitorio (bedroom), baño (bathroom), etc. Furniture: cama (bed), silla (chair), mesa (table), sofá (sofa), armario (wardrobe), etc. Household Items: lámpara (lamp), televisión, alfombra (rug), cortinas (curtains), etc. Household Chores: limpiar (to clean), cocinar (to cook), lavar (to wash), barrer (to sweep), etc. Phrases La cocina está al lado del comedor. (The kitchen is next to the dining room.) Mi dormitorio tiene una cama grande y un armario. (My bedroom has a large bed and a wardrobe.) Necesito limpiar el baño. (I need to clean the bathroom.) La televisión está encima de la mesa. (The television is on top of the table.) Exercises NOTE: These exercises will be handed out at the end of the lesson. Vocabulary Quiz: Test your knowledge of the new vocabulary with a multiple-choice quiz. Home Layout: Draw a layout of your dream home and label the rooms and main pieces of furniture in Spanish. Role Play: Practice using your new vocabulary in context by playing the role of a real estate agent showing a house to a potential buyer. Writing Exercise: Write a short paragraph describing your home using the new vocabulary and phrases.
